The World’s Largest Deckchair

If you happen to be in Southern England and are feeling the heat, head on down to Bournemouth beach and check out the largest deckchair in the world.

A creation of artist Stuart Murdoch and standing at 28 feet tall, the giant chair is massive.

Hope someone can confirm this and maybe add more photos. It is The Mirror after all and these could well be photoshop jobs. via

Rag Chair

Not sure what to do with all those old, worn out clothes that have great sentimental value attached to them? Why not turn them into a Rag chair like Tejo Remy did?

These chairs are made from layers of rags, taken from 15 bags of them, and can be reinforced with your own rags. Your memories can now stay with you for a lot longer.

Glass Chair

Shiro Kuramata designed this glass chair in 1976, that is now produced by Mihoya Glass Co. Ltd., Japan. Interesting, but looks a little uncomfortable and actually pretty dangerous. Plexiglass would have been a better material to go with.

What happens if a kid runs into it and gets sliced in half? Wouldn’t want to clean up that mess. Or a really heavy person sits down and cracks it? You’ll have to go and get a new one. via

The Octopus Throne

This is one of the most awesomest chairs I have ever seen. Would be equally fitting for a mastermind super villain or the captain of a dreaded pirate ship.

Spanish artist Maximo Riera knows a thing or two about being an evil overlord. At least that is my guess, judging by the incredibly awesome chair/throne he’s created.

“The octopus sculpture is created from compressed foam sections that are then attached and painted by hand to create the intricate details. [It's] upholstered in luxurious black leather [and] tentacles extend to 1.5 metres [to the back].”

The throne would give that final touch to your already formidable castle and let you rule over the world in style. At £35,000 ($53,550), it’s certainly got the price tag to match.

Now what will you call it? The Krack-en? Octobut? The Squidas? Any better suggestions? Buy the chair here

Multifunction Robot Chair

A lounge chair designed like a frikkin robot. That’s what Mark and Efe designed and then called it The Bulldozer.

They combined the look and feel of a real bulldozer with the concept of a chair that can be fully adjusted and the results are really impressive. Wow.

The Bulldozer is made from an aluminum base with a neoprene covering, making it strong, durable and attractive. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, you can place it in sand or beside the pool.

This is a work of art that comes purely from human imagination and creativity. No inspiration derived from nature here. A uniquely attractive design.
