iOS 86

What makes the iPhone so amazing has a lot to do with its iOS which gives it a very attractive and user-friendly interface. Now what would the iPhone look like if it used the OS that the original Macs from the 80s had? Check out these amazing conceptual renderings to find out.

Apple iPhone iOS 86

The iOS ’86 concept by Anton Repponen wonderfully re-imagines the default iOS home screen in the style of the original Mac OS, down to the classic Chicago bitmap font. It’s a neat idea that almost makes me wish I could skin my iPhone’s beautiful 960×680 screen with an old low-resolution GUI—just to see if it looks this nice in real life.

It’s still a concept so could be a great opportunity for someone to come up with an actual iPhone theme or skin, based on it. via – Gizmodo

Wrap-around BlackBerry Phone

Here is a pretty amazing and eye-catching concept phone. The Wrap-around BlackBerry, designed by John Anastasiadis who has attempted a refreshing look at the fading Blackberry brand.

The concept phone features a new, lightweight, transparent and flexible. In the words of Anastasiadis himself:

The front and back cameras are positioned underneath the screens. When needed the area around the camera lens becomes transparent. The wrap around screen can allow for separate workspaces and/or a more three-dimensional interaction with the device. Obvious benefits apply to business, entertainment and navigation applications.

Simply beautiful and probably enough to save the sinking ship that is RIM if it was ever produced and marketed. Probably won’t see it in actual Blackberrys.

Mobile charging gone bad

This always happens. The phone’s charge is just about to run out. You plug it in and go to sleep with the knowledge that everything will be alright. Wake up in the morning and the phone is dead.

Ever notice that even with a nice long battery life, you still keep worrying about when the charge will run out on your mobile/laptop/tablet?

What we need are mobile devices that are always charging somehow. Or just need to be checked every couple of weeks like a car battery. Would reduce a lot of stress.

Macs Now Support Windows

For all you Mac lovers out there, your cool aluminum-crafted Apple Macbook can now support windows, literally out of the box. You won’t even have to wait for it to boot.

Meaning of USB

USB stands for Universal Serial Bus, though not many people know if it’s the serial killer serial or the morning breakfast cereal. We just like to picture it like this:

World’s Largest Coffee Cup

How much is your love for your coffee? If it’s true love, then you better prove it with this 6 inch tall, 10 inch wide porcelain cup. Place the giant cup prominently on your desk, in the kitchen or on the passenger seat while driving. Take it with you anywhere.

“While you should never drink 20 cups of coffee in one sitting, you can take comfort in knowing that the World’s Largest Coffee Cup can hold 20 regular cups.”

So go ahead, have just one cup of coffee a day. We’d hate to meet you after you’ve gulped down all that caffeine, but at least we can relax with the knowledge that you’re happy and wide awake.
