Alienware X51 Gaming PC Announced

Alienware has announced their smallest gaming PC to date. The X51 comes in a mini-ITX form factor and looks a lot like an XBox or Playstation gaming console.

Based on a mini-ITX motherboard, the X51 has a starting price of $699 and comes with 4GB RAM and a 1TB hard drive. The CPU, a Core i3-2120, seems a little underpowered, but it is supposed to be a smaller and lower-cost machine. And the Nvidia GT 545 graphics card should give it a little needed oomph for your favorite games.

The price tag doesn’t include any accessories, so be prepared to acquire your own monitor, keyboard and mouse. However, the device does come with built-in WiFi, HDMI and two SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports.

This guy’s new year resolution is not impressive at all. My resolution for the coming year is a cool 1920×1080, powered by a 24 inch Samsung LED. Anything less just doesn’t cut it anymore.

Perpetual laptop charger

Here is something so simple that people should be banging their heads on the wall for not thinking of it earlier. Never run out of power again. Just plug your laptop’s charger pin into your USB port. Voilà.

I guess you could also charge your electric cars this way. Just plugin the power into the cigarette lighter socket and start your engines.

Would love to hear feedback of how many people got this to work. Just don’t blame us if anything goes wrong.

Vintage Camera Nightlights

Flickr user Jason Hull has been converting plastic film cameras from the 50′s & 60′s into wonderful nightlights.

He only modifies the mass-produced type that aren’t rare and can easily be found at flea markets or lying around the house. Beautiful stuff.
