Roll down windows

You know how a number of today’s kids don’t know what the Save button actually is? In some time, they won’t know where the term rolling down a window means either.

Roll down windows

Cars as recent as those manufactured in the 2000s still have these and new cars in the third world will continue to be manufactured with manual windows for a while. Will probably take another generation or so.

Acura NSX Concept Car

The Acura NSX Concept has just been unveiled at this year’s Detroit Auto Show.

The beautiful NSX Hybrid Concept is powered by Acura’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) technology, a direct-injection, mid-mounted V-6 engine, and dual-clutch transmission.

The NSX’s all-wheel drive system can deliver instant negative or positive torque to the front wheels when rounding corners and the design is sleek and very attractive to say the least. Check out more photos below and the video of the car.

Hope they come up with a consumer version soon. We’ll probably be lining up to buy it.

Saving gas on a full tank

How often does this happen to you? You have a full tank of gas and you feel like you could go to the moon and back. The moment the fuel gauge starts to drop, your mind switches to fuel-save mode.

I often wish the average fuel or battery gauge worked a little differently. It shows “normal” until the level reaches half-tank (or half-charge) and then shows “low”. Would really cut down on the level of stress caused by something so trivial. via

Xbox 360 themed car interior

The owner of this car must be one really hardcore Xbox fan to have its interior modded with an Xbox 360 theme!

Check out the middle of the steering wheel that contains an embedded controller and also the dashboard, themed in the exact Xbox 360 fashion.

No idea if any of the modded parts work but I hope the driver does not actually use the controller instead of the steering wheel while driving the vehicle.

I would have added commonly used functions, such as control of the car mp3 player or ejecting the annoying passenger, through the Xbox-style steering. via

Need for Speed: The Run trailer

Need for Speed: The Run is the latest installment in Electronic Arts’s Need for Speed franchise. The game trailer looks a lot like a full-blown motion picture.

The game was scheduled to be released today, November 15th, 2011. Based on the first trailer for the game, it appears to be a story-focused, cross-country driving affair with players fleeing from the law (often the best part of Need For Speed video games).

Need for Speed: The Run will involve players traveling from San Francisco to New York, driving through Las Vegas and Denver along the way. Sounds like the most fun NFS game so far.

We will add more information about the game when it becomes available. You can get more info on it here.

Inferno of Irony

It may sound cool, but maybe best not to tempt fate by naming your car or automobile after acts of burning, crushing or other destructive forces.

Awesome speed control method

Using stickers on the road to fool motorists into slowing down. Brilliant. Actually, any 3D art would work pretty well for this, though drivers coming in at high speeds could panic and crash if they don’t notice them in time.

Off course, it’ll only work until enough people figure out that the potholes aren’t real and start ignoring such obstructions. That’s where India still beats Canada.
