The tallest tent in the world has gone up in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan (yes, the same one associated with the Borat phenomenon of a few years back).
The Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center is housed in a tent almost 500ft high and was designed to offer protection from the harsh climate outside.
The city has a temperature variation of over a hundred degrees Fahrenheit (about 86F in summer to -22F in winter), which is indeed very harsh.
Can’t wait to experience both the climate and the beautiful structures, like this tent, that have popped up recently in Kazakhstan. Link.
