The humble chainsaw was my weapon of choice for quickly cutting down the strongest of opponents. It comes in especially handy when faced with a mob of zombies and other ammo is in short supply. Here is a design to turn it into a missile weapon by making it rocket-propelled.

This is one weapon design that had better come into existence before the next zombie outbreak. Unlike conventional chainsaws, this would also lessen the possibility of infected zombie blood from splattering into your eyes and mouth.

Given this use of the chainsaw results in limited ammo, I’d much rather prefer a new device. Maybe a rotating blade that you can launch, which cuts across a line of zombies and then returns to the firing apparatus. Somebody somewhere must have created it.
