Recently, we wrote about a solar charger for cell phones. That has already been made irrelevant by the Blue Earth, a recently-announced solar-powered handset from Samsung.
The rounded cell phone looks a little like a shiny pebble and is part of a green initiative by Samsung. It will be featured in this year’s Mobile World Congress.
The handset is mostly made from environment-friendly and recycled materials such as plastic bottles. Even the packaging is kept light and made from recycled paper.
Also included are an application to encourage walking instead of using motor vehicles and a highly efficient charger, in case the sun dies out.

the sun dies out? the sun can die!? OMG!
