Lots of awesome photos on this post. Some are obviously enhanced, but others can only be described as great photography.
I found this whirlpool photo very attractive. It looks great and very real, though I’m pretty sure it is doctored.
Nonetheless, it gives a feeling of chaos amidst calm and tranquility.

It’s actually a dam glory hole used to allow excess water to escape. Pretty neat.

it’s not a wirl pool. it is a pipe that is just below the surface of the water, and the water is geting suct in to it.

This is not a doctored picture. It is the spillway intake for Monticello Dam, in California. There are lots of Google pictures and Wikipedia info. YouTube video also.

They must have a valve which controls the flow and regulations that prevent accidents like that. But you never know.

a “glory hole” is the right name for it.
It is real, although it is not a whirlpool. It’s a glory hole dam. I’m pretty sure this is the one in California which is the biggest of its kind. It’s supposed to drain water. Isn’t it cool? >w<
