Marcus Schrenker, under investigation for financial fraud, attempted to fake his own death by parachuting out of a plane and letting it crash. He managed to escape, but was subsequently caught by federal marshals.
Besides being a criminal, he also appears to be severely short on grey matter. How was he expecting to fake his death without providing a body that could be mistaken for his? Firstly, planes don’t usually vaporize in a fireball like they do in the movies. Even if they did, it would leave some remnants of the deceased. For this, it would have been wise if this crook had stolen a body from the morgue or at least an animal carcass to make it harder to suspect foul-play.
Also, I heard the distress call he sent out before bailing out and it showed how retarded this guy really is. It was just plain silly, though I can’t find a link to it right now.
